Three months into his second term, U.S. President Donald Trump has introduced a number of executive orders, policies and promises to the American people.

He's introduced tariffs, immigration crackdowns and spending cuts to the Department of Education and other federal agencies. How are people responding in New Jersey and across the nation?

We've compiled a recent snapshot of how citizens view the 47th president and his administration based on polls conducted at local and national levels.

Donald Trump approval rating in New Jersey

Here's Trump's approval rating in New Jersey as of March 12, according to data from online survey platform Civiqs.

  • Favorable: 38%.
  • Unfavorable: 60%.
  • Unsure: 2%.

What was Trump's NJ approval rating in 2016, 2020?

According to World Population Review, New Jerseyans' net approval of Trump by November of 2020 decreased by 14 percentage points from when he first took office in 2016.

This was his approval rating in late 2020:

  • Approval: 42%
  • Disapproval: 54%

Donald Trump's approval rating 2025: Reuters/Ipsos

Here's Trump's overall American approval rating as of March 11-12, according to data from Reuters/Ipsos.

Reuters/Ipsos noted their polls are conducted online and gather responses from U.S. adults nationwide. Data dashboards include margins for error.

On job performance:

  • Approve: 44%.
  • Disapprove: 52%.

On handling the economy:

  • Approve: 39%.
  • Disapprove: 51%.

Here's Trump's approval rating as of March 13, according to data from The Economist.

  • Favorable: 46%.
  • Unfavorable: 51%.
  • Don't know: 3%.

Donald Trump's approval rating 2025: Gallup

Here was Trump's approval rating as of Feb. 3-16, according to data from global analytics and advisory firm Gallup.

  • Approve: 45%.
  • Disapprove: 51%.
  • No opinion: 5%.
