Well, thanks for joining us. Wanted to give you *** quick update on what we're looking at for the severe weather possibilities. We've been monitoring the severe weather all across the country today in the Southeast, and of course we're also looking at that threat developing for the Piedmont Triad, the mountains and the foothills through early morning on Sunday. So let's go ahead and show you what we've got going on out there. Uh, one of our forecasts suggesting that we have that risk area for not only the mountains beginning early morning, but then it tracks. Travels from west to east, so we're under that slight risk level 2. It could mean that we have tornadoes this time around as well as some damaging wind risks. So we'll be watching for that threat too here in the hour by hour forecast, you can see some scattered showers. The heavier rains are going to move in from the southwest to the northeast along the Blue Ridge Parkway could put down *** 0.5 inch to about 1 inch out there, and we're anticipating some strong thunderstorms that may become. Supercells, the wind profile is just really intense aloft, and so you're going to notice between 5 and 6 a.m. here come the storm cells lifting over areas like North Wilkesboro, Yakinville, Mount Airy, and then another line also at the same time between 8 to 9 starting to lift in Winston-Salem, Greensboro, High Point, Reidsville as we get you through noon, that whole line begins to shift to the east and temperatures may have *** chance to warm up if we clear out enough. And with that strong wind we may see some low to mid 70s. We've got you near the low 70s right now for your forecast highs, but bottom line, we're expecting most of that to clear out by later in the day. Mountain temperatures, of course, we're expecting some 50s early morning and we are also expecting to see in the foothills the 60s. So it's *** mild start. We have temperatures in the 70s for the afternoon and in the Piedmont Triad we've got temperatures in the 7. We may see some mid to upper 70s with that south southwest wind still being warm even though the front, the first one is rolled through. The second front could cause some isolated spheres we talked about late afternoon between 2 and 4 o'clock, and that's where we could get into uh *** line of thunderstorms, mainly eastern triad, southeastern triad. We'll be watching for that chance there's not *** lot of high confidence that we're going to have more instability at that point, but we need to watch for it for sure. For the Piedmont Triad as well, we talked about the shower and thunderstorm possibilities. *** lot of that is because the winds are really kicking aloft. We've got the mid-level jet stream wind speeds anywhere from 100 to 125 miles an hour. You combine that with the low level jet stream that really kicked in or kicks in early between about 5 to 7 a.m. across the Piedmont Tribe. We are expecting to see wind advisories as *** result of that, and that's one of the reasons that we do have in the mix that. Treat for severe weather lasting again in the afternoon and then some trees could take down some power lines too, so watch for any down power lines tomorrow. Keep your digital devices charged, please, and make sure you have *** way to get those weather alerts, especially if you are going to be away from your TV or maybe sleeping in in the morning. Here's that 7 day forecast. You can see some 70s and 60s out there as we go through the week, so up and down *** little bit. nice Saint Patrick's Day, and we're gonna have much more for you coming up tonight at 10 and 11. Join us then.
